It looks like a dove to me. Could be a collared dove if it has a black circle round its neck. I don't think it is a feral pigeon though as it is too good looking. The nest looks like a dove nest, not very sophisticated with little more than a few twigs. I am sure it is a dove. Any other suggestions. Looking forward to the baby as I see only one egg.

I agree that it looks like a dove. I am not sure what species you get in Lebanon but it could be a Collared Dove (as David suggests).

Ironic that the dove is a symbol of peace! Maybe it knows something.

Thanks for the updates and good to see Dom getting his hands dirty (ie writing something).

It all looks a bit hairy on TV and I agree with you that the first element of any broadcast here in UK tends to be about casualties in Israel. Lebanon always comes second (at least so far).

I am also not sure what Israel is hoping to achieve - surely they are only going to create more support for Hezbollah and the militants. But what do I know - I work on climate change which seems a bit unimportant when you have shells falling around your ears...

It certainly looks like a dove to me - I have seen lots of similar ones in India!
